Kongsberg Secures MNOK 3,950 Deal for JSM Supply to Norway’s F-35A Squadron

Today, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (KONGSBERG) received a contract from the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) to provide the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for Norway’s fleet of F-35A Lightning II combat aircraft.

The agreement is valued at MNOK 3,950. The collaboration between KONGSBERG, the Norwegian Armed Forces, and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment in the specification, development, and testing of the JSM has been an essential element in the creation of a missile with such sophisticated capabilities.

“The Joint Strike Missile, as an integral component of the Norwegian F-35 fighter jet, empowers the Norwegian Air Force to function within the demanding and intricate environment, safeguarding critical national interests. The missile’s development has been in progress since 2008, and with this agreement, it concludes the development and testing phase and transitions into full-scale production. This initiative ensures employment opportunities and business for KONGSBERG and our vast supply chain partners for many years ahead,” states Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
