“Bestfly Boosts Energy Operations: Angola Orders Four AW169 Helicopters from Leonardo”

The Leonardo AW169 light intermediate twin-engine helicopter bolsters its global footprint and its achievements in the energy sector with the sale of four units to Bestfly of Angola. This agreement signifies the debut of the AW169 in the African marketplace, marking the initial acquisition from a prominent local operator.

The launch of the 4.6/4.8 tonne AW169 substantially enhances Bestfly’s aviation operations in Angola. It will facilitate passenger and cargo transport within the energy sector by utilizing cutting-edge technology and advanced navigation/mission avionics, adhering to the latest certification and safety protocols, delivering exceptional performance, offering the largest cabin in its class, and employing a contemporary maintenance strategy.

To date, orders and options for nearly 290 AW169 helicopters have been secured by over 90 clients across more than 30 nations globally for a diverse array of applications, including air ambulance, law enforcement, executive/corporate transport, offshore mobility, electronic news collection, training, military, and utility services. In the energy sector, supporting oil and gas or wind farm operations, the AW169 has already demonstrated its effectiveness in Europe and the Middle East. More than 130 units have been delivered worldwide, accumulating over 90,000 flight hours.
