Raytheon Secures Contract to Deliver Advanced Early Warning Radar System to Qatar
Major Defense Contract Awarded for Qatar’s Early Warning Radar System
DOHA, Qatar — February 26, 2017 — Raytheon Company, based in Woburn, Massachusetts, has secured a substantial contract worth $1,066,297,129 for an advanced early warning radar system intended for Qatar. This pivotal contract is a fixed-price, incentive-firm letter agreement. The developed radar system will play a crucial role in enhancing Qatar’s integrated air and missile defense capabilities.
The project will be executed at Raytheon’s facilities in Woburn, Massachusetts, and is anticipated to reach completion by June 30, 2021.
This contract represents 100 percent foreign military sales and results from a sole-source acquisition. The contracting activity is managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts, under contract number FA8730-17-C-0010.
