Serco Secures Extension of MELABS Partnership
Serco has entered into a fresh agreement with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to persist in offering logistical support and the complete range of base services in the Middle East.
30th August, Dubai, UAE: The newly established Middle East Logistics and Base Support Services (MELABS) agreement, estimated at around AED250m, will initiate on 1 January 2024, sustaining Serco’s dedication as a reliable industry collaborator for this crucial support capability for an initial duration of three years.
Originally securing the agreement to offer support for ADF missions in the Middle East Region in 2011, Serco will continue to provide 26 distinct service lines under the renewed contract.
This extensive array of logistical, hospitality, estate management, facility maintenance, transportation, and asset leasing services also incorporates an emergency structural and airfield rescue and firefighting response capability for the ADF’s principal operating base in the Middle East, which was introduced in 2020.
Graeme Flaws, Serco Middle East Operations Director for Citizen Services and Defence, stated that the contract success is a reflection of Serco’s dedication to delivering consistently high-quality, cost-effective services, further solidifying our robust collaboration with the ADF.
“Serco is excited to share the renewal of our MELABS agreement, and we anticipate continuing our long-standing tradition of supporting the personnel of the ADF to enhance operational capability and safeguard Australia’s national interests,” Mr. Thomas expressed.
“Collaborating with the ADF for over a decade in the Middle East to provide outstanding logistics and base services support highlights its trust in Serco,” Mr. Flaws remarked.
MELABS Contract Manager Shannon Fleming conveyed his immense pride in our devoted team in the Middle East, who are focused on providing exceptional services daily.
“We are honored to persist as a reliable industry collaborator with the ADF, ensuring our services are in alignment with the Australian Defence Force’s mission to maintain the safety and efficacy of their overseas missions.”
