
Sikorsky Unveils the Latest Presidential Helicopters: A New Era in Airborne Leadership
The U.S. Marine Corps officially received the 23rd and final advanced VH-92A presidential helicopter crafted by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, during recent ceremonies, representing a significant achievement for the organization that has been transporting every U.S. president since 1957.
“This handover signifies a pivotal moment and a new chapter in the esteemed 67-year history of Marines providing helicopter transport for the president of the United States. The VH-92A Patriot® enhances features for this essential mission supporting the Commander-in-Chief globally,” stated Lieutenant General Bradford Gering, Deputy Commandant for Aviation. “Sikorsky’s role in Marine Aviation has empowered your United States Marine Corps to be a prepared and formidable fighting force.”
The delivery showcases the accomplishments of the VH-92A helicopter initiative to design, manufacture, and supply the program of record under budget and within the scheduled timeline.
Sikorsky: Upholding the Heritage
The VH-92A helicopter will transport the President and Vice President of the United States, along with other dignitaries. Sikorsky brings unparalleled expertise and a validated history to this mission, having served every president since 1957. The VH-92A, often referred to as a “White Top” due to its distinctive white and green design, will perpetuate this heritage for many years to come.

The VH-92A program guarantees long-term cost-effectiveness by employing the FAA certified Sikorsky S-92 aircraft, recognized as best-in-class for safety and reliability. The S-92 aircraft was adapted at Sikorsky facilities in Owego, New York, and Stratford, Connecticut, for the VH-92A mission based on government-defined specifications.
