“Unveiling the ‘Alligator’: Russia’s Latest Helicopter Addition to Its Arsenal”

Arsenyev Aviation Company “Progress”, part of the renowned Russian Helicopters holding, has successfully delivered the complete fleet of Ka-52 Alligator combat reconnaissance and attack helicopters designated for the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2020, adhering to the state contract terms.

Furthermore, the company is actively engaged in the modernization of the Ka-52 helicopter, collaborating with JSC NCV Mil and Kamov design bureaus to enhance its capabilities.

“This year presented numerous challenges, particularly due to the ongoing pandemic. Despite these obstacles, we fulfilled all our state contract commitments on schedule and successfully launched the first upgraded Alligator, the Ka-52M,” highlighted Yuriy Denisenko, Managing Director of “Progress”.

The new Ka-52M features an enhanced optoelectronic system that significantly improves target detection and recognition ranges. Additionally, it incorporates a new digital drive that enhances cannon firing accuracy. The upgraded helicopter is also equipped with a state-of-the-art radar system featuring an active phased antenna array and long-range guided missile capabilities.

The main rotor blades of the Ka-52M have a more powerful heating element, enabling operations in extreme temperature ranges, including Arctic conditions. Furthermore, the helicopter boasts upgraded landing gear with increased bearing capacity and wear resistance, along with advanced LED lighting systems. The redesigned cockpit interior also meets modern ergonomic standards, providing improved operator comfort and efficiency.
