French Air Force Selects Safran’s Euroflir 410D for Cutting-Edge VADOR Reconnaissance Aircraft

The Euroflir 410D optronic (electro-optical) system from Safran Electronics & Defense has been chosen by the French defense procurement authority DGA (Direction Générale de l’Armement) for the Beechcraft Super King Air 350 “VADOR” (Vecteurs Aéroportés de Désignation, d’Observation et de Reconnaissance) reconnaissance, observation, and designation aircraft, intended for deployment by the French air force.

With the capability to detect and recognize threats over distances of several dozen kilometers, the Euroflir 410D will empower French operatives utilizing the VADOR to conduct identification, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations discreetly, regardless of the time of day or weather conditions.

Designed and manufactured in France by Safran, the Euroflir 410D is a compact, modular system that delivers exceptional observational capabilities across all visibility scenarios, primarily thanks to its extremely long-range multispectral telescope and superior line-of-sight stabilization mechanism.

This recent selection underscores Safran’s position as a European leader in the competitive landscape of advanced optronic systems for helicopters, drones, and reconnaissance aircraft.
