Boeing Secures Groundbreaking CH-47F Block II Chinook Production Agreement
Boeing along with the U.S. Army has finalized a $136 million agreement for the first CH-47F Block II Chinook helicopters.
The Army opted for four contracted CH-47F Block II Chinooks, with deliveries set to commence in 2023. In a separate transaction, the Army granted Boeing a $29 million advanced procurement agreement for the next production phase of CH-47F Block II helicopters.
The Block II Chinook includes several enhancements intended to boost lift capabilities and strengthen interoperability between U.S. and allied fleets, ultimately lowering maintenance expenses.
“This marks a significant advancement in Chinook modernization, contributing to the Army’s future multi-domain objectives,” stated Andy Builta, vice president of Cargo & Utility Helicopters and H-47 program manager. “The Block II innovations will foster interoperability throughout the fleet and ensure our soldiers can return home safely for many years to come.”
