Embraer Unveils the KC-390 Millennium: A Bold New Look for Aviation Innovation
Confins, Brazil, September 19, 2025 – Embraer (NYSE: ERJ/ B3: EMBR3), a key player in the aerospace sector globally, today unveiled the updated visual identity of the KC-390 Millennium demonstrator aircraft. The event, held in Confins, Minas Gerais, took place at the facilities of GOL Aerotech, where the aircraft showcased its new design.
This reveal commemorates the highly favorable momentum of the KC-390 Program through a novel and eye-catching visual identity, mirroring the qualities that have enabled the Millennium to establish itself as a global frontrunner in the medium category of military tactical transport.
“This updated visual identity signifies a significant milestone in the journey of the KC-390 Millennium, the multi-role aircraft of the 21st century. Its unmatched combination of speed, maneuverability, durability, dependability, technology, and efficiency—unparalleled in the segment—not only enhances the defense capabilities of its operators but also fosters strategic collaboration among allied nations,” stated Bosco da Costa Júnior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.
The painting of the demonstrator aircraft at GOL Aerotech’s facilities also paves the way for future customization of customers’ aircraft, alongside the enhancement of Embraer’s production capabilities to meet the worldwide demand for the KC-390.
Since its deployment with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, followed by the Portuguese Air Force in 2023 and the Hungarian Air Force in 2024, the KC-390 Millennium has demonstrated its versatility, dependability, and performance. The current operational fleet has recorded a mission success rate exceeding 99%, underscoring remarkable productivity within its category. To date, this 21st-century aircraft has been selected by 11 Air Forces globally, which include eight European nations and seven NATO allies.
The KC-390 Millennium boasts a higher payload capacity (26 tons) than other medium military transport aircraft and operates at greater speeds (470 knots) and range. It is equipped to undertake a broad array of missions including cargo and troop transportation, medical evacuation, search and rescue (SAR), firefighting and humanitarian operations, and is adaptable to temporary or unpaved runways, such as packed earth, soil, and gravel. The aircraft, configured for air-to-air operations under the designation KC-390, has successfully validated its aerial refueling capabilities both as a tanker and as a receiver, utilizing pods installed under its wings to receive fuel from another KC-390.
