Lockheed Martin Secures $720 Million Deal for Advanced JAGM and HELLFIRE Missile Production
Lockheed Martin has secured a monumental $720 million contract from the U.S. Army for the production of Joint Air-to-Ground Missiles (JAGM) and HELLFIRE missiles. This marks the fourth and final extension in the current multi-year contract, reinforcing Lockheed Martin’s status as a leader in multi-domain missile systems.
This contract is pivotal as it provides essential production support to the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and allied international forces. Among the key features, it includes Foreign Military Sales (FMS) such as 160 JAGMs destined for the United Kingdom, alongside HELLFIRE FMS orders for NATO allies including Poland, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Italy. Additionally, new HELLFIRE orders have been placed by Canada.
“This contract represents a major milestone in our enduring partnership with the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and our global allies,” stated Casey Walsh, Program Management Director of Multi-Domain Missile Systems at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. “We are dedicated to enhancing our deterrence capabilities and steadfastly support the military’s essential missions, ensuring the safety of those who serve both domestically and internationally.”
The significance of this contract goes beyond just the production of JAGM and HELLFIRE missiles. It highlights the robust relationships Lockheed Martin has forged with the Army, Navy, and its international partners. For instance, the HELLFIRE FMS order for Poland supports a recent U.S. government agreement for the sale of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to the Polish Air Force. As the global security landscape shifts, Lockheed Martin remains focused on delivering innovative and effective solutions to adapt to customers’ evolving needs, marking a substantial advancement in defense efforts.
Both the JAGM and HELLFIRE systems originate from Orlando, Florida, with manufacturing taking place across various Lockheed Martin facilities including Dallas, Texas; Orlando and Ocala, Florida; Archbald, Pennsylvania; and Troy, Alabama. With over 145,000 missiles produced, JAGM and HELLFIRE are the preferred choice for precision engagement in critical operations.
