ST Engineering Partners with Korean Air for Next-Gen LEAP-1B Engine Care

Singapore, 23 January 2025– ST Engineering today revealed that its Commercial Aerospace division has inked a five-year maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) agreement with new client, Korean Air, to assist the LEAP-1B engines powering its Boeing 737 MAX fleet. Through this contract, ST Engineering will deliver rapid turnaround services including high-pressure turbines (HPT) and Performance Restoration Shop Visit (PRSV) services to the airline’s LEAP-1B engines from its MRO facility in Singapore.

Since its designation as a Premier MRO supplier, ST Engineering has dedicated itself to consistently expanding and enhancing its expertise in LEAP engine services, which encompasses high-pressure compressor rotor and HPT rotor balancing, alongside high-speed grinding. It achieved evaluation capabilities for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines at its Singapore establishment in 2024, and is presently amplifying its capacities to incorporate LEAP PRSV in order to more effectively meet airlines’ increasing LEAP engine maintenance requirements in the forthcoming years.
