“Revolutionizing Defense: EDGE and L3Harris Unveil Cutting-Edge EO/IR Service Hub in Abu Dhabi”

EDGE Group PJSC (EDGE), a prominent player in the global advanced technology and defense sectors, declared the inauguration of a new WESCAM Authorized Service Center (WASC) at EARTH’s EOCE Facility in Abu Dhabi. This cutting-edge WASC is a partnership between EARTH, a division of EDGE Group, and L3Harris Technologies, a foremost manufacturer of EO/IR imaging and targeting sensor systems worldwide.

Administered and operated by EARTH’s skilled, locally-trained UAE nationals, the advanced 33,000-square-foot cleanroom facility is outfitted with the latest specialized testing equipment, resources, and technology necessary to serve as the principal in-country center for WESCAM MXTM-Series EO/IR systems. These systems are utilized by the UAE’s National security, Armed Forces, and various regional clients. Coupled with EDGE’s domestic expertise and mission execution readiness, the facility will enhance customer operational availability, boost mean time between failures (MTBF), and shorten maintenance and repair turnaround times.

EARTH will manage the facility within its Electro-Optical Centre of Excellence (EOCE), recognized as one of the leading service facilities for EO/IR imaging and targeting sensor systems globally, alongside L3Harris. This opening fulfills EDGE’s commitment to establish strategic alliances, as it capitalizes on its status as the regional frontrunner in advanced technologies within the defense industry.
