EDGE Group Takes a Bold Step into the Global Advanced Radar Arena with Strategic Alliance with Spain’s Tech Pioneer Indra

Abu Dhabi, UAE / Madrid, Spain: 04 March 2024 – EDGE Group has officially established a new Joint Venture (JV) agreement with Spain’s Indra Sistemas (Indra), an internationally acclaimed information technology and defense systems enterprise with a presence in over 140 nations, and a vital contributor to significant European initiatives such as the Eurofighter and the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). The accord, signed in Madrid by EDGE Managing Director & CEO Hamad Al Marar and CEO of Indra Jose Vicente de los Mozos, will empower the new Abu Dhabi-based JV to forge and manufacture next-gen radar systems in the UAE, unlocking a stream of contracts for approximately 300 sophisticated radar solutions. The newly established business will receive prime rights for existing and upcoming non-NATO and non-EU orders awarded to Indra.

The JV will emphasize a strategic focus on the ongoing advancement of refined technologies, innovation, and worldwide market penetration by targeting uncharted and fragmented non-NATO markets outside the EU. EDGE will contribute its commercial prowess and technology foundations, while Indra will bolster the new firm’s capabilities through technology transfer, shifting some engineering, commercial, and manufacturing proficiencies to the JV.

The JV will also prioritize assembling a team of highly-skilled personnel in the UAE, particularly within sales and engineering functions, by harnessing local Emirati talent in conjunction with global expertise, ensuring enduring operational excellence and innovative output.
