Fincantieri Partners with iGenius to Pioneer AI Innovations on Italian Soil

Fincantieri has finalized a contract with iGenius, an Italian startup engaged in the domain of research and advancement of generative artificial intelligence technologies, focused on establishing a partnership for the development of AI solutions based on a completely Italian platform.

The partnership, which seeks to merge iGenius’ expertise in formulating and crafting AI models with Fincantieri’s proficiency as a system integrator across all value-added sectors of shipbuilding – as stated in a release – will evolve through the exploration of practical applications in both civil and military domains, commencing with support for analyzing data obtained from Fincantieri’s Omega 360 radar. This initiative falls within the Artificial Intelligence enhancement strategy that Fincantieri is pursuing to reinforce the mastery of technology with substantial developmental potential, assessing solutions aimed at enhancing performance, safety, and efficiency of its offerings and procedures. iGenius is the fully Italian enterprise founded in 2010 by Uljan Sharka, who also serves as its CEO, specializing in the development of corporate Business Intelligence platforms built on generative artificial intelligence, capable of easing data access via natural language through tailor-made professional configurations aligned with the user’s requirements.

“To empower Artificial Intelligence within our Group, we began by identifying the most promising practical applications and the most avant-garde players, ensuring access to leading technologies while maintaining the confidentiality of processed data, thus safeguarding our expertise,” remarked Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and general manager of Fincantieri. “In this context – he added – the agreement with a globally acknowledged Italian entity like iGenius signifies a pivotal moment for the Group and reaffirms its commitment to systematizing the excellence of our nation.” “We are excited to initiate this collaboration with a global leader such as Fincantieri. This alliance represents a fusion of technological brilliance and long-term vision, aiming to introduce innovative generative artificial intelligence solutions made in Italy that will redefine standards of efficiency, safety, and sustainability in the naval industry,” stated Uljan Sharka, CEO of iGenius.
