MBDA Launches Groundbreaking Land Cruise Missile: Transforming Precision Strike Capabilities!
MBDA unveils the Land Cruise Missile (LCM) system, an innovative ground-launched Deep Precision Strike asset, designed to meet the demands of the transforming strategic environment on the battlefield.
LCM utilizes all of MBDA’s expertise in the realm of Deep Precision Strike, capitalizing on the operationally proven Naval Cruise Missile (NCM) currently deployed on French Navy frigates and attack submarines.
The LCM system offers a unique European sovereign option for a deep strike ground-launched cruise missile system, conceived, produced, and assembled within Europe. Nations employing NCM missiles in conjunction with the LCM system will join an elite group of countries possessing outstanding long-range Deep Precision Strike capabilities, accountable from beneath and from maritime platforms as well as land bases.

The LCM system will provide the same unmatched capabilities as the NCM, which feature: meticulous precision at extraordinary ranges; improved survivability while penetrating enemy integrated air defense systems due to reduced radar cross-section and terrain-following functionalities; and impressive lethality against designated targets. Furthermore, it will enable a highly accurate synchronized time-on-target (STOT) function, as previously illustrated through the simultaneous NCM strike from a frigate and a submerged submarine executed by the French Navy in partnership with DGA in April 2024. The LCM enables forces to deter aggressive maneuvers from opposing adversaries by establishing a persistent and immediate threat to enemy high-value assets.
With the LCM operational design, MBDA will deliver a comprehensive integrated system, including a mission planning suite and ground launchers mounted on specialized land platforms, ensuring agility, survivability, and responsiveness for ground forces in high-intensity scenarios.
