The JIM Compact multifunction infrared binoculars crafted by Safran Electronics & Defense were revealed at the Eurosatory 2016 exhibition and are now selected by seven NATO nations. Specifically, these next-generation binoculars are acknowledged as the most effective option for special operations forces, as they fulfill the complete spectrum of ISTAR missions: Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance).
JIM Compact presents an exceptionally lightweight design (under 2 kilograms, including the battery), extended range, and superior battlefield connectivity, aligning with users’ most stringent specifications, particularly size, weight, and power (SWaP), along with operational time. Due to its user-friendly ergonomic structure, low-light sensor, cooled infrared, and daytime sensors already utilized in the original JIM LR long-range binoculars, along with pointer and laser designator displays (See-Spot), JIM Compact provides the premier performance-to-weight ratio in the industry.
Safran Electronics & Defense’s JIM Compact builds upon the highly successful JIM series of multifunction infrared binoculars, nearly 10,000 of which are currently operational or on order across approximately 40 nations.
