Finnish Army Welcomes the Rugged SISU GTP 4×4 Off-Road Warriors
Oy Sisu Auto Ab has successfully supplied the initial SISU GTP 4×4 vehicles requested by the Finnish Defence Forces. This shipment is part of the acquisition process for the SISU GTP 4×4 test series introduced by the Finnish Army during the summer of 2020. The aim is to gather insights on vehicle performance and functionality to meet the future demands of the Defence Forces’ transportation both domestically and in crisis management operations.
The initial shipment features two distinct armored vehicle configurations: a five-passenger general-purpose vehicle and a ten-passenger armored personnel carrier.
The SISU GTP vehicle lineup is adaptable and thus readily customizable for various operational roles. The vehicles possess compatible frameworks, and the crew cabin designs are interchangeable. This remarkably modular approach enables the rapid and cost-effective delivery of vehicles tailored for specific missions.
Now that the vehicles are delivered, the Army will initiate a testing program, after which an additional four vehicles from the test series, along with operational and field maintenance guidelines and spare parts kits, are scheduled for delivery later this year.
