
L3Harris Secures $947M Deal to Elevate Air Force Electronic Warfare Capabilities
L3Harris Technologies has secured a 10-year, $947.3 million sole source agreement from the U.S. Air Force for engineering services related to an aircraft electronic warfare system initiative.
The contractor will deliver block and non-block cycle services for the AN/ALQ-172 Countermeasures Program and enhancement initiatives by the Air Force Global Strike Command, as stated by the Department of Defense on Tuesday.
ALQ-172 is a self-defense integrated radio frequency subsystem crafted to shield the B-52 and C-130 aircraft from radar-guided threats.
L3Harris will execute contract duties at its Clifton, New Jersey facility until Aug. 30, 2031. At the time of the award, the company is being allocated $9.8 million in Air Force fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance resources.
The award was granted by the Electronic Warfare Contracting Branch of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, located at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia.
